France carries out 62 airstrikes, artillery shelling against IS in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) French Ministry of Defense announced, via a tweet, that the French troops conducted four air strikes and 58 artillery shelling on the headquarters of the Islamic State group in Iraq, during this week.

According to the ministry, French warplanes carried out 27 sorties in Iraq, this week, including 4 air strikes, destroying 4 targets, while it also pointed out that artillery troops conducted 58 shelling, all in the vicinity of Mosul.
Noteworthy, France launched a military operation, codenamed “Opération Chammal” in 19 September 2014, to support the Iraqi Army in driving the Islamic State group out of the country.
