Both sides also agreed that achieving a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution per international legitimacy resolutions remains the optimal path to ensure sustainable stability in the region.

El-Sisi and von der Leyen also underscored the depth and strength of the Egyptian-European relations, which were elevated to the level of a Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership in March of this year, said Fahmy.

This reflects the significance Egypt and the European Union accord to enhancing their cooperation as a cornerstone for regional integration and stability, added the presidential spokesman.

For her part, the President of the European Commission affirmed that the Egypt-EU Investment Conference highlights the common interests between both sides as well as the European Union’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s development and economic reform path.
