TEHRAN- The Islamic Republic will react “within seconds” to any new Israeli “mistake” against the nation, the deputy foreign minister of Iran has threatened.
In a Monday broadcast interview, Ali Bagheri Kani, the deputy foreign minister for political affairs, stated as much.
He stated, “They should anticipate a harsher, quicker, and more immediate response in the event that they repeat the same mistake.”
“This time, the Zionists should know this that they will not have a 12-day-long timespace,” the official noted, adding, “The response that they are going to receive [this time around] cannot be measured by [such time standards as] days or hours, but [will come in a matter of] seconds.”
“If there is any [measure of] rationality within the Zionist regime, they [will know this that they] must not repeat their strategic mistake with another mistake,” Bagheri added.
The diplomat underlined that Iran does not favor tension, but at the same time warned that Tehran will not allow any harm to the country’s security and national sovereignty.
“It is a basic principle and all other frameworks are based on this principle,” he noted.
The Zionists, the official stated, should know that if their mistake concerning the Iranian consulate warrants such a crushing retaliation, then their likely malign intentions against the Iranian soil would “principally entail a much more vehement response.”
Senior Iranian political and military figures, such as President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, have issued warnings of a harsher and more forceful reaction amid rumors of an impending Israeli invasion.
An act of terrorism against Iran’s diplomatic buildings in Damascus, the capital of Syria, was carried out by the Israeli regime on April 1.
General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in Iran, together with his deputy, General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five other accompanying officers, were all martyred as a consequence of the Israeli strike.
The IRGC launched a volley of missiles and drones into the seized regions late on Saturday in response. Operation Truthful Promise, the name of the retaliatory strikes, has caused damage to Israeli military sites located throughout the Palestinian controlled areas.
The Iranian Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, declared on Sunday that the response of Tehran to the Zionist regime was “resolute and enlightening.”
He also emphasized that the Iranian people’s unified stance against the Zionist enemy, which had targeted the Iranian consulate, a symbol of the nation’s sovereignty, was “resolute and enlightening.”
“The decisive and powerful response of those defending our beloved country’s sovereignty has brought satisfaction to every Iranian who values the dignity and security of our esteemed nation,” he asserted.
Ghalibaf stressed that Iran’s military action in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against our diplomatic premises was consistent with the United Nations Charter.
Additionally, he warned that if the Zionist regime or its allies make another mistake, Iran’s response will be more severe.
“The desire for retaliation against this usurping and oppressive regime has sparked a wave of joy and pride among Muslims worldwide,” Ghalibaf noted.
