‘Traitor, murderer:’ Right-wing Israelis threaten, protest left-wing journalist who says he recited Kaddish over victims, including Gazans
On Saturday evening, dozens of protesters gathered outside the residence of Israeli journalist Israel Frey in Bnei Brak, demonstrating against him.
One protester, speaking through a megaphone, stated, “Just as you wouldn’t allow a secular person to live in your building, don’t let a murderer reside with you in the building.”
In addition to vocal expressions, cries of “traitor” rang out, accompanied by the sound of fireworks. Frey reported that some of the protesters attempted to enter his home, but the police, who were called to the scene, claimed they had no knowledge of such an attempt.
Throughout the war, Frey, a left-wing and ultra-Orthodox individual, faced criticism from right-wing factions due to his public expressions against Israeli policy. Particularly, he drew controversy for a video in which he recited the Kaddish memorial prayer for the victims of the war, including Gaza residents who lost their lives in recent IDF attacks.
Chuck Schumer: ‘I’ll lead U.S. Senate to provide Israel with the support required to defend itself from this monstrous attack’

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, currently leading a bipartisan delegation in Israel, noted the “good, productive meetings” with Israeli leaders including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Benny Gantz, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Minister Gadi Eisenkot, and Minister Ron Dermer.
“I’ll lead the effort in the U.S. Senate to provide Israel with the support required to defend itself from this monstrous attack,” said Schumer.
Schumer — along with Republican Sens. Mitt Romney and Bill Cassidy and Democratic Sens. Jacky Rosen and Mark Kelly — were rushed to a bomb shelter in Tel Aviv during an earlier rocket alarm siren. “It shows you what Israelis have to go through,” he said.
Israeli air force chief: ‘We’ll aggressively facilitate best conditions for Gaza gound invasion’

Tomer Bar, the Commander of the Israeli Air Force, announced on Sunday that they are actively preparing to facilitate optimal conditions for ground forces in the event of an IDF ground incursion into Gaza.
“We are diligently eliminating threats from both land and air,” he emphasized, “and we will take an aggressive approach to ensure that our soldiers can perform effectively during a ground operation.” Bar emphasized the air force’s commitment to working closely with ground forces, fully allocating their resources to support ground operations.
Bar also confirmed the air force’s readiness for a potential escalation in the northern region. “While our current focus is on the southern area,” he noted, “we stand fully prepared for any developments in the north. The air force is well-equipped and in close coordination with all units, ready to respond to threats and engage as necessary in a wartime scenario.”
Hezbollah says two IDF tanks and one armored vehicle targeted, confirms hits

Hezbollah announced that two tanks and one armored vehicle were targeted, and confirmed hits. The organization stated that the attack was carried out “in response to the killing of the journalist and civilians.” On Friday, a journalist from “Reuters,” Issam Abdullah, was killed by an Israeli missile strike at a gathering of foreign journalists in southern Lebanon, and six other reporters were injured. Additionally, it was reported on Saturday in Lebanon that two elderly individuals were killed in an Israeli shelling of the village of Chebaa.
Top Netanyahu minister says gov’t accepts responsibility, adds, whoever decided on 2005 Gaza disengagement must also be held accountable

Education Minister Yoav Kicsh stated that the government bears responsibility for the war, saying that “Our responsibility is inherent, and no one is trying to evade it.” However, he added, “There is also responsibility for the military, and there is responsibility for whoever decided the Gaza disengagement” in 2005.
According to him, “At the moment, all systems must function. We are in a war. We will examine and draw all conclusions after the war.”
Nine rocket launches detected from Lebanon into Israel, IDF says
The IDF spokesperson has confirmed that nine rocket launches from Lebanon into Israeli territory were detected. Among these launchers, five have been intercepted, prompting alarms in the Western Galilee region. Additionally, the IDF is targeting the source of the rocket fire from Lebanon.

Egypt’s president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi told U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken that Israel’s reaction to Hamas’ attack went beyond self-defence and amounted to collective punishment.
In televised comments during a meeting with Blinken in Cairo on Sunday, Sisi also said he rejects the targeting of any civilians in the ongoing conflict.
At least 12 journalists killed, eight wounded in first eight days of the Israel-Hamas war, American watchdog says

At least 12 journalists were killed and eight wounded in the first eight days of the Israel-Hamas war, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. Two journalists are additionally said to be missing.
“CPJ emphasizes that journalists are civilians doing important work during times of crisis and must not be targeted by warring parties,” said Sherif Mansour, CPJ’s Middle East and North Africa program coordinator.
“Journalists are making great sacrifices across the region covering this important conflict. Measures to ensure their safety must be taken by all parties to stop this deadly and heavy toll,” Mansour added.
