Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad holds official talks with President of Somalia

At the beginning of the session, the Amir welcomed the President and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a good stay, and for further strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries, and looking forward to more joint cooperation.

For his part, the Somali President expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir for the kind reception and generous hospitality, expressing his pride in the level of cooperation and development relations between the two countries and pushing them to broader horizons in various fields. The President also expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness for Qatar’s support for the Somali people.

During the session, they discussed the bilateral relations between Qatar and Somalia, and ways to support and develop them in various fields of cooperation, especially in development and the economy, in a way that serves the common interests and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international developments of common interest.

The talks were attended by HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan, HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of Culture, and HE Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. and a number of Their Excellencies senior officials.

On the Somali side, it was attended by HE Salah Ahmed Jama, Deputy Prime Minister, HE Elmi Mohamed Nur, Minister of Finance, HE Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education, HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Director of the Office of His Excellency the President, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation.

His Highness the Amir held a luncheon in honor of the Somali President and his accompanying delegation.

His Excellency the Somali President had arrived at the Amiri Diwan, earlier today, where an official reception ceremony was held for His Excellency.
