Over the last day, Ukraine’s combat aircraft carried out 11 strikes on Russia’s clusters and one on an anti-aircraft missile complex at its firing position.
That’s according to a morning update on war developments, posted by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, reports Ukrinform.
“In the past day, the Ukrainian aviation carried out 11 strikes on the occupiers’ clusters, as well as a strike on their anti-aircraft missile system at a firing position. Also, our missile and artillery units hit a control post, two manpower clusters, and an ammunition depot,” the report reads.
At the same time, the Russian Federation focuses its main efforts on conducting offensive action in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Shakhtarsk directions. Ukraine’s forces repelled nearly 90 enemy attacks in the said directions.
“The enemy launched 10 missile and 19 air strikes, as well as 37 attacks using MLR systems. Peaceful towns and villages and civilians came under fire, again. The threat of Russian missile strikes remains high throughout the territory of Ukraine,” the military said.
In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the operational situation saw no significant changes. No signs of enemy offensive groups being formed were detected. The Russians fired mortars and artillery at the settlements of Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Chernihiv region; Sopych, Korenyok, Hirky, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Ryzhivka, Basivka of Sumy region, as well as the areas of 18 settlements in Kharkiv region. Among them are Timofiivka, Strelecha, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Vilcha, Budarki, Ambarne, and Bolohivka.
In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the Russians attempted – with no success – an offensive effort near the settlements of Stelmakhivka, Kreminna, Belogorivka, and Fedorivka, also shelling the areas of Kamianka, Dvorichna, Hryanikyvka, Kotlyarivka and Berestovka of Kharkiv region; Nevske, Chervonopivka, Kreminna, Kuzmyne, Dibrova, Belohorivka of Luhansk region, and Ivanivka and Yampolivka of Donetsk region.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy continues to attack Ukraine’s positions near the settlements of Orihovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Berkhivka, Yahidne, Maloiliinivka, and Bakhmut. They also actively run aerial reconnaissance missions to spot artillery fire. More than 20 settlements, including Spirne, Vesele, Bilohorivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Berkhivka, Yahidne, Bakhmut, and Ozaryanivka of Donetsk region, came under Russian fire.
In the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, the enemy launched an offensive near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Nevelske, Maryinka, Pobieda, Vuhledar, and Prechystivka. In total, over the past day, the occupiers launched 43 unsuccessful attacks near the said settlements. Artillery shelling of 22 areas was recorded. Among them are those near Novobakhmutivka, Vesele, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Velyka Novosilka of Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhia direction, the areas of Vremivka, Novosilka, Zelene Pole, and Novopil of Donetsk region; Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Novodanilivka, and Kamianske of Zaporizhzhia region; and Vyshchetarasivka and Marhanets of Dnipropetrovsk region were hit by Russian fire.
In the Kherson direction, Russian artillery shelled the regional center of Kherson, as well as the settlements of Tyahinka, Novotyahinka, Antonivka, Zelenivka, and Chornobayivka.
In connection with the ongoing failure of the offensive and significant manpower losses near Vuhledar, personnel of the volunteer ‘Cossack detachment,’ which was assigned to the 155th brigade of the Russian Pacific fleet’s marine infantry, is defying orders, refusing to further participate in the offensive action.
The report also notes that the invaders continue to force Russian passports upon Ukrainian citizens. Since February 19, the residents of Nova Kakhovka have been receiving propaganda messages promoting services of the local “migration service.”
