Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders have eliminated 83 Russian forces, as well as destroyed a significant amount of military equipment and three ammunition depots.
That’s according to Operational Command South, Ukrinform reports.
“The situation in the operational area of southern Ukraine is tense and dynamic. The enemy is continuing to wage defensive battles and insidious shelling of populated areas both along the contact line and in our rear areas. To spot their fire, the occupiers have intensified aerial reconnaissance. In the Mykolaiv district, one such Orlan-10 type spy drone was shot down,” the report says.
Trying to hold the occupied ground, the enemy once again used the tactics of air strikes in the direction of Bilohirka, Kostromka, Sukhyi Stavok, and Bezymenne, “which cost them dearly as they lost an attack aircraft. The Su-25 was ‘grounded’ ahead of schedule by our anti-aircraft missile units,” the Ukrainian military said.
Ukraine’s Air Force pilots delivered 13 strikes, while missile and artillery units performed more than 250 fire missions.
Confirmed enemy losses in the area over the past day include 83 soldiers, five main battle tanks, 12 Msta-B and Msta-S howitzers, three Hyacinth-B guns, and three armored combat vehicles. Also, three ammunition warehouses were destroyed – in Hola Prystan, Tomyna Balka, and Snihurivka.
“The enemy naval group continues maneuvers along the Crimean coast in missile-safe areas without significant changes in numbers and tasks. On standby are two missile carriers equipped with 16 Kalibr cruise missiles,” the Operational Command reported.
As of September 6, Russian military death toll in Ukraine reached 50,150.
