It’s now nearly a week since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine.

The latest images from the country show the despair and destruction of Moscow’s onslaught, with the eastern city of Kharkiv and Kyiv’s satellite towns in the crosshairs on Wednesday.

It prompted the Ukrainians that have remained to hide in underground shelters for a seventh consecutive day.

In just a week around 800,000 people have fled into neighbouring countries, the majority heading for Poland.
