Tunisian PM thanks China for support in fight against COVID-19

TUNIS, May 1 (Xinhua) — Tunisian Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh on Thursday said his country is grateful to China for its support in Tunisia’s fight against COVID-19.
Fakhfakh made the remarks during his meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia Wang Wenbin on Thursday.
The prime minister said China has controlled the pandemic in a short period of time, which is admirable.
He added that China’s experience in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 provides a model for Tunisia.
Fakhfakh emphasized that Tunisia attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and is willing to cooperate closely with China to deepen cooperation in various fields.
Wang said China appreciates the positive results of Tunisia’s fight against the COVID-19.
He added that China will continue to support Tunisia.
As of April 30, Tunisia registered a total of 994 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 41 deaths.
