Counterfeit protocols – imam reported to the police

Gothenburg: Falsified records, parish money sent abroad and used privately.

Now, an imam in Gothenburg police have been notified by their colleagues for fraud and forgery.

The mosque which in recent years received hundreds of thousands of local contributions from sports

and club management, subsequently sent the minutes of the annual meeting of the municipality. So far, so good.

But just a few weeks later sent an additional protocol in from an alleged extra annual meeting.

This protocol was suddenly mosque’s imam enrolled as Chairman, and the elected treasurer was replaced by another person.

According to several people who GP has been in contact with, an extra meeting never took place.

– It is forged. I have not been in any extra annual meeting as it stands. Imam has changed and entered himself as chairman.

They try to control the association as a dictatorship, says a person in the society.

mam: This is not true

Sheikh Yusuf Ahmed, another imam who normally works at the Bellevue Mosque in another neighborhood,

also claims that the Protocol is false. In the minutes he is enrolled as responsible for meeting

and when the GP showing it to him, he will be surprised.

– That the minutes I have never seen. That is not true. I was in Oslo at the time,

so I can not possibly have participated in this extraordinary meeting, said Imam Sheikh Yusuf Ahmed.

 

So it is a false protocol?

– Yes, this is not true. Someone entered my name there.

What I do know it has only been a single annual meeting, is available on film.

 

Even the cashier who was elected the regular annual meeting is upset.

– It is the imam and his friends who made a fake protocol because they want to retain

power for themselves. They do not want others have transparency in the economy, says the treasurer.

Sent money abroad

GP has taken part of the financial documents, including invoices and excerpts

from the association’s bank account. Where it appears that the association’s money,

among other things used to pay a lock and door opening onto a private apartment

owned by family homes in another part of Gothenburg.

 

Thousands have also been transferred to a company that is working to pass on money to foreign countries,

which are now reported to the police along with the counterfeit protocol.

 

– They talk a lot about this in our neighborhood. Imam’s a role model for so many people.

But people are also afraid to go against the imam because they think they can be punished by God

then says another parishioner to GP.

 

According to Sofia Lalander the police Fraud Squad has now launched a preliminary investigation.

– We have collected some data and the case is ongoing. Much more,

I can not say in the current situation, says Sofia Lalander.

Reported to the police implies It is not the first time the cleric is accused of having falsified and changed the protocol.

In 2014 he reported to the police for the same thing. The preliminary investigation was laid down, however. – I withdrew the notification and did not pursue it further. I did not think they would dare to continue to do this, says the man who made the complaint at the time.
GP has repeatedly sought the designated imam, partly through his own mobile number. – He is not here.

– This is a power struggle between two groups that lasted several years. Basically, it’s the direction the mosque should have said a parishioner. Something the other members do not agree with. – This is not about a power struggle. We just want the association to be managed properly, says a member
